The Cutting Edge of
CrossMedia Communications

History shows that those who refuse to adapt to a changing environment face a minimal chance of survival. You can keep on making buggy whips…or you can switch to accelerator pedals and thrive in a new marketplace.

The same can be said about communications. With changes occurring at breakneck speeds, companies need to do more than just adapt to the latest technologies…they need to maximize them.

Blackhawk Corporation can help you flourish in the new era of CrossMedia Communications, where traditional publishing is just part of a digital mix that includes multiple media and distribution methods, from the World Wide Web to CD-ROM to paper.

HawkDAM digital asset management services can give your creative staff and production vendors immediate access to your digital files, along with the flexibility to create new formats for alternative media.

At the same time, you can continue to count on industry-leading Blackhawk Prepress for services that match your workflow requirements.

What’s a "Media Asset"?

Media assets are creative building blocks – logos, photography, illustration, a color palette, typeface, sound, video and the like – that can be digitally re-expressed or modified over two or more media. For example, a digital asset might be an illustration created for use in a brochure, on a Web site and as part of a CD-ROM. In order to accomplish this, the original artwork needs to have certain characteristics that facilitate its re-expression into new media. Creating artwork for re-expression adds value to your digital assets. However, unintended or unplanned reuse in a different format – called repurposing – does not increase value.
